The Project 2123 - Envisioning The World in 100 Years

About the event

The 2123 Project is a student project sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Center that envisions life in the world in 2123 at Trinity’s Tercentennial. It is memorialized in a pack of 52 trading cards, a coffee table book, and a framed set of the cards to be mounted on the wall in Nutt lobby near the Engineering Time Capsule. The project will be publicly launched in a museum exhibit on Sept 29 1pm at the Library with President Lugo and Hartford Mayor Arulampalam scheduled to give the remarks. Building the AI-Ready Workforce: Skills Employers Actually Need

About the event

Audience: Academic leaders, faculty, career services, and workforce program directors. This session is designed to inform and engage Connecticut's higher education community about the most critical skills employers are prioritizing in an era where AI is reshaping every sector. From platforms like ChatGPT, Canva, and GitHub to new workflows and team structures, the conversation will focus on what it truly means to be AI-capable—not just AI-aware.

The 45-minute discussion + 15-minute Q&A will highlight perspectives from talent acquisition, consulting, and employers who are actively using AI in daily operations. They are quite often able to produce parts more accurately and efficiently than traditional manual processes freeing up makers to design, assemble and create more. This course is specific to the Techno Titan CNC at MakerspaceCT, but many of the principles covered apply to CNC routing on any machine.

The 8th International Distinguished Artists Symposium and Exhibition, Human Marks: Tattooing in Contemporary Art, explores convergences between tattoo culture and global contemporary art. The exhibition presents the full creative spectrum of artists who maintain both tattoo and studio practices to ask what the world of fine art can learn from today's tattoo community. With a range of surprising media—from paintings made with human blood to wearable works in silicone and even perfumery—themes of ritual, ethics, and identity tie together the materially dynamic, unexpected, and challenging artwork.

Slipe Gallery Presents: Realigned Possession

About the event

Realigned Possession is an exhibition, performance, and video by artists Creighton Baxter and Miller Robinson, first staged in 2020 and reconceived on the occasion of Human Marks to elaborate on the theme of identity in the exhibition. The project is a meditation on queer uses of the body, resulting in an installation that traces the material relationships established during an 8-hour, unscripted performance.

This iteration of Realigned Possession is made possible by a grant from the Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Foundation.
